Steps for exporting data
from Tally 4.5
Step 1: Export from Tally
NOTE : If you exporting data from Tally and the Company having Period of more
than One Financial Year, then Export data from Tally after splitting Company.
- Go to Display -> List of Accounts -> Ledger Accounts
- Press Alt + P, (For Exporting List of Ledgers from Tally)
- Press F7 (Output Method)
- Select method of reporting - Exporting to a file
- Press F9
- Select Format to Use : SDF
- Press F3
- Coverage Details With Information of Op/Clsg balance also? Y
- Press F8
- Enter File Name : "C:\Ledgers.sdf"
- Press Enter key to Begin
- Press Y
- Go to Display -> List of Accounts -> Cost Centres
- Press Alt + P, (For Exporting List of Cost Centres from Tally)
- Press F7 (Output Method)
- Select method of reporting - Exporting to a file
- Press F9
- Select Format to Use : SDF
- Press F8
- Enter File Name : "C:\CostCentre.sdf"
- Press Enter key to Begin
- Press Y
- Go to Display -> DayBook
- Press F2, Select full financial year
- Press Alt + P, (For Exporting Daybook from Tally)
- Press F7 (Output Method)
- Select method of reporting - Exporting to a file
- Press F9
- Select Format to Use : SDF
- Press F3
- Set Y
- Press F8
- Enter File Name : "C:\Daybook.sdf"
- Press Enter key to Begin
- Press Y
Step 2: Import in T++
NOTE : PLEASE DO NOT IMPORT DAYBOOK WITHOUT FIRST IMPORTING MASTERS
- Run T++
- Go to T++ Pick a Task
- Click on "Import Data From Tally"
- Import Masters : "C:\Ledgers.sdf"
- Select Financial Year start date (Start Date same as Tally Company which you Exported
above)
- Select Tally Version from where you had exported Daybook & Master
- Duplicate Entries : "Modify with new data"
- Click on Next button & wait while the data is being imported
- When the Back Button is Highlighted then press Back
- Import Masters : "C:\CostCentre.sdf"
- Click on Next button & wait while the data is being imported
- When the Back Button is Highlighted then press Back
- Import Daybook : "C:\Daybook.sdf"
- Select Financial Year start date (Start Date same as Tally Company which you Exported
above)
- Select Tally Version from where you had exported Daybook & Master
- Duplicate Entries : "Ignore Duplicate"
- Click on Next button & wait while the data is being imported
- When the Finish Button is Highlighted then press Finish
- You can find the Created company in "C:\Program Files\T++\NewComapny.tpp"

Tally 5.4 Release 4
Steps for exporting data
from Tally 5.4 release 4 and above.
Step 1: Export from Tally
NOTE : If you exporting data from Tally and the Company having Period of more
than One Financial Year, then Export data from Tally after splitting Company.
- Go to Display -> List of Accounts
- Press Alt + P twice, (For Exporting List of Ledgers from Tally)
- Enter in "File Name: C:\Master.exp", Export Press YES
- Go to Display -> Day Book -> Select Full Year (Financial Year)
- Press twice Alt + P (For Exporting Day Book from Tally)
- Enter in "File Name: C:\Daybook.exp", Export Press YES
Step 2: Import in T++
NOTE : PLEASE DO NOT IMPORT DAYBOOK WITHOUT FIRST IMPORTING MASTERS
- Run T++
- Go to T++ Pick a Task
- Click on "Import Data From Tally"
- Import Masters : "C:\Master.exp"
- Select Financial Year start date (Start Date same as Tally Company which you Exported
above)
- Select Tally Version from where you had exported Daybook & Master
- Duplicate Entries : "Modify with new data"
- Click on Next button & wait while the data is being imported
- When the Back Button is Highlighted then press Back
- Import Daybook : "C:\Daybook.exp"
- Select Financial Year start date (Start Date same as Tally Company which you Exported
above)
- Select Tally Version from where you had exported Daybook & Master
- Duplicate Entries : "Ignore Duplicate"
- Click on Next button & wait while the data is being imported
- When the Finish Button is Highlighted then press Finish
- You can find the Created company in "C:\Program Files\T++\NewComapny.tpp"
- Cash Opening balance has to be manually entered.
- Company which is Imported from Tally, in T++, will not show Profit & Loss A/C
Balance in Trial Balance Report.
- If there is Journal Voucher (J.V.) for Profit Transfer then effect of J.V. will
not be shown in Trial Balance Profit & Loss A/C but second effect it will show
in Capital A/C.

7.2, 8.1, 9
Steps for Exporting data from Tally 6.3, 7.2, 8.1, 9
NOTE : If you exporting data from Tally and the Company having Period of more
than One Financial Year, then Export data from Tally after splitting Company.
Step 1: Export from Tally
- Go to Display -> List of Accounts
- Press Alt + E, (For Exporting List of Ledgers from Tally)
- Enter in "Output File Name: C:\Master.xml"
- Select "Type of Masters: All Masters" from list
- Export Press YES
- Go to Display -> Day Book -> Select Full Year (Financial Year)
- Press Alt + E (For Exporting Day Book from Tally)
- Enter in "Output File Name: C:\Daybook.xml"
- Select "Select Vouchers to show: All Vouchers" from list
- Export Press YES
Step 2: Import in T++
NOTE : PLEASE DO NOT IMPORT DAYBOOK WITHOUT FIRST IMPORTING MASTERS
- Run T++
- Go to T++ Pick a Task
- Click on "Import Data From Tally"
- Import Masters : "C:\Master.xml"
- Import Daybook : "C:\Daybook.xml"
- Select Financial Year start date (Start Date same as Tally Company which you Exported
above)
- Select Tally Version from where you had exported Daybook & Master
- You can find the Created company in "C:\Program Files\T++\NewCompany.tpp"
